There are places that make you feel like the world has slowed down just for you. Vigilius Mountain Resort, high above the town of Lana in northern Italy, is one of those rare escapes. The only way to reach it is by cable car. From the moment you step in, you leave the noise of everyday life behind and enter a world of peace and calm.

The views are incredible. From the resort you can see mountains in every direction. The quiet and stillness make you feel connected with nature and yourself. The rooms are designed to help you focus on the surroundings. There are no TVs or radios, just the natural light, the fresh mountain air, and the beautiful landscape.

Breakfast is simple but delicious. Local ingredients, fresh bread, cheese, fruit, and a variety of options make every morning enjoyable. There is one restaurant at the resort, but if you want to explore more, the cable car takes you down to Lana where there are really nice places to eat. Pfefferlechner, 1477 Reichhalter Eat & Sleep, and Gourmet Ladele are all worth a visit. You can include your TripAdvisor affiliate links for each of these restaurants.

The resort has a spa and a heated pool surrounded by trees. It is the perfect place to relax and feel connected with nature. They also have a small gym if you want to exercise.

For outdoor activities, there are hiking trails that start right from the hotel. The resort rents E-bikes and also offers complimentary full-suspension mountain bikes. I took one of the bikes and went on a ride through the mountains. It was amazing to explore the trails while surrounded by nature. MTB in Vigilius Mountain, Italy.

During my stay, a special art weekend was happening. Japanese sculptor Hideki Iinuma presented his exhibition “Resonance” and invited guests to a workshop. It added a unique cultural touch to the stay.

The staff at Vigilius is exceptional. Everyone I met, from check-in to the restaurant and pool area, was friendly, welcoming, and full of positive energy. Their kindness makes the experience even more relaxing and enjoyable.

Overall, Vigilius Mountain Resort is one of the most unique and relaxing places I have ever visited. It is perfect for disconnecting, slowing down, and enjoying the mountains. I would absolutely go back.
