Cotton House, Barcelona:
A Hotel Worth the Price

The Cotton House Hotel occupies a Neoclassical building on Passeig de Gràcia that dates to 1879. It was the headquarters of the Fomento del Trabajo Nacional — Spain's oldest employers' association — before becoming one of Barcelona's most quietly impressive hotels. The bones of the building do most of the work. The team that restored it had the good sense to get out of the way.

Draft in progress. Photos and full write-up coming soon. The skeleton is here — the story follows.
