The best all-round alpine stay in Switzerland at this price point. Design is confident without being cold. The ski-in access and spa make winter the obvious season.

The Hotel Lucerne

Jean Nouvel's building is reason enough to stay. The restaurant is the best of the three. Go for architecture and the lake — not a typical resort experience.
